K\u00e4mpfe um Wohnraum in der Eurokrise<\/em><\/p>\n

Im Zuge der Eurokrise wurden Miet- und Hypothekenschulden, Zwangsr\u00e4umungen und in der Folge die Unsicherheit des eigenen Wohnraums f\u00fcr zahlreiche Menschen zu einer allt\u00e4glichen Erfahrung. Vom individuellen Leid, das diese Entwicklungen mit sich bringen, zeugen unter anderem erh\u00f6hte Risiken f\u00fcr Depressionen und andere psychische Erkrankungen oder Suizide, die in unmittelbarem Zusammenhang mit Zwangsr\u00e4umungen stehen. Bestehende oder geplante Schutzrechte f\u00fcr Wohnraum gerieten gleichzeitig auf Betreiben der ‚Troika‘ – der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission, der Europ\u00e4ischen Zentralbank und des Internationalen W\u00e4hrungsfonds – und nationaler Regierungen unter Druck. Trotzdem gelang es Betroffenen in vielen F\u00e4llen, sich selbstorganisiert zur Wehr zu setzen, etwa mit Blockaden von Zwangsr\u00e4umungen, erfolgreichen kollektiven Beratungen zur Unterst\u00fctzung individueller F\u00e4lle oder der Wiederaneignung leerstehender H\u00e4user. Auf der Veranstaltung werden AktivistInnen von Solidarity4all<\/a> (Griechenland), der Plattform der Hypothekenbetroffenen – PAH<\/a> (Spanien) und von Action – Diritti in Movimento<\/a> (Italien) \u00fcber die K\u00e4mpfe um Wohnraum in ihren L\u00e4ndern und St\u00e4dten berichten.<\/p>\n

Housing struggles in the Eurozone crisis<\/em><\/p>\n

The Eurozone crisis has seen mortgage debt and rents becoming an ever more intense problem for the everyday reproduction of many people in Europe. Innumerable evictions increased the precarity of housing and everyday life and led to rising rates of mental stress and depression as well as suicides. Protection from evictions was at the same time – in the context of the austerity based European crisis management – under fierce attack by the ‚Troika‘ – the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund \u2013 and national governments. However, affected people, relying on self-organisation, in many cases were able to mount successful resistance. Evictions were actively impeded by acts of civil desobedience, successful mechanisms of collective counseling to give help and support in individual cases established or houses occupied. The workshop features presentations from activists from the Platform of those affected by mortgages PAH<\/a> (Spain),\u00a0Solidarity4all<\/a> (Greece) and\u00a0Action – Diritti in Movimento<\/a> (Italy) that analyse struggles against evictions and for housing in their respective countries and cities.<\/p>\n
